[Nfb-krafters-korner] making pictures with braille writer

Well, I's and E's were the only letters used. I think that might have helped
a bit in the separation of the branches as they got longer. I really wish I
could find that tree pattern again. Do you have any idea where I can look?

What I mean is that the letter I and E are not the full hight of the cell
so there should be gaps between the rows, unless they used the st and ch
sign, instead.

It didn't have anything between the rows. The branches got bigger as the
lines got longer; but the tree didn't look blocky, it was more cone shaped.
Or perhaps it didn't look blocky because I's and E's were used rather than
fors.

I was actually thinking of doing something like that, but if you use I and
e, what did they do with the gaps between the rows. I was thinking of the
ch and st signs or gh and ar to make the slant of the branches.
I slant my stitches in 2 different directions, with plastic canvas, to
represent the flow or slant of the branches.
By the way, I created this tree, myself!

Thanks Cathy. I used to have a Christmas tree that was made by using braille
I's and E's with fors and G's at the bottom. It was done on construction
paper because it was to wide for regular braille paper. Unfortunately, I no
longer have it, so I am unable to reproduce the pattern.

hi all,

an interesting thread regarding the Marie Porter books and drawing with the
braille writer. there is only one thing I know how to make on the braille
writer I will share it here. it is a Xmas tree and I learned to make it
when I was very young. here is the pattern:

line 1: space five times, then make a for sign with dots 1,2,3,4,5,6, then
go to next line.
line 2: space 4 times then make 3 for signs and go to next line.
line 3: space 3 times then make 5 for signs and go to next line.
line 4: space 2 times then make 7 for signs and go to next line.
line 5: space once then make 9 for signs and go to next line.
line 6: repeat row 1.

<smile> Cathy
