hi all,

hope to see many of you tonight. the skills you will need are how to single crochet and knit two together. another skill is how to make a magic ring.  as magical as this ring is, I can not seem to understand  how to do it myself even with instructions. so I am hoping that one of you who comes tonight will be able to explain it to those of us who don't know how to do it.

the magic ring is the first step in making the egg. there is another way to begin which is to make a chain and form it into a ring and crochet into that. however, the magic ring is supposedly nicer because it does not leave a small hole in the center of your work, in this case, at the tip of the egg. 

so I will be ready to read the pattern but not to explain how to make a magic ring. sure hope to learn how to make it, though . I  hope it is easier to explain than attempting to explain  how to make a slip knot  to some one who has  never made one before! <smile>
