The Pi Shawl pattern I am working on is by MinKnits Blog Starburst Pi Shawl
and can be found at URL:

http://blog.minknit.com/2012/04/starburst-pi-shawl.html

The pattern is knit in the round. You start out with 9 stitches that form
the center of the round shawl. There are 5 sections in the pattern and an
edging section. By the end you have 576 stitches on your needles.

I am using size 8 needles instead of those in the pattern, as well as using
Lion Brand Glitter Spun yarn instead of that called for in the pattern. I
wanted the end result to be bigger than the 30 inches as designed in the
original pattern.

I am using either a double or triple 0 circular needle for my life line.
I have found that placing stitch markers every 18 stitches works well for
the 9 stitch pattern repeat. Every 9 stitches would be better, but that
would require 36 markers to keep track of when working the 288 stitches in
Section 5.

The pattern only requires that you know how to
-knit in the round
-, knit,
-yarnover,
-knit 2 together, and
-Slip slip knit.

HTH,
Annette

Over 500 sts?

I can't imagine doing something like that.

Where did you find this pattern again?
