A large gauge is 3/4 inches between each peg.  The 1/2 gauge is a bit
smaller, and then I believe you can get 3/8 which is a slight bit smaller.
I believe that you can get fine gauge looms, but I am not sure what the
distance between pegs are on those looms.
A good estimate is if you can place the tip of your finger between pegs, you
probably have a large gauge loom.
