[Nfb-krafters-korner] elegant swarovski bracelet -- the email class

18 gage wire is thicker and harder to bend than 20 gage, that is why I use 20 gage in safty pin beading, since I have arthritis. When using beads, like sead beads or small eyed beads, you are going to need a higher number than 20. 24 or 26 should be good. You want your item to be flexible.

I think Terry means if I would please confirm the thickness of the memory wire.

First, as the numbers get higher with memory wire, does the wire get thicker or thinner?

Secondly, the memory wire I require does not have to be very thick.
You just need some wire that can hold a few twists and a little bit of shaping. It also needs to be thin enough for a seed bead to slide onto it. So, if your seed beads slide on a 24 gauge wire, then use a 24 gauge wire. If your seed beads are happily sliding on an 18 gauge, then by all means please use your 18 inch.

Besides, you don't or won't need much wire for the secondary project.
And ... I hope people don't run out and buy a ton of stuff that might not be needed. With beading it is a little tough to ask for super specific supplies because there comes a point where you, the crafter, need to make some decisions on design. Also, some crafters prefer different types of materials to what I might recommend. so, I try to be specific without being specific. *grin*
