Hi Kathy,

Wow! You certainly have been busy! It sounds like you have learned a lot and
acquired some useful and marketable skills. Now, the big question is, how
can you find a job? How difficult is it for a blind person in your area to
be hired as a customer service phone rep? Good luck! Craft on!

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] OT what has been happening with me

Hi all,

I just wanted to update everyone with what has been happening with me this
summer. In June and July I took a computer class to learn windows7 and
office 2010. In August I took a two-week intensive course in call center and
customer service training. Admittedly it is rather late in life for me to
begin a new career, but I wanted a part-time job so I could afford to
purchase more craft supplies and other fun stuff! So I have successfully
completed all this training and it is wonderful because I feel so empowered
now, knowing that I have the skills to compete in the job market in the
customer service field. Of course I really wanted to thank my instructors
and since I didn't feel that thank you was quite enough, I gave each of them
a piece of jewelry I'd made. I gave my computer teacher one of the loom knit
wire and bead necklaces because I knew it was something unique and she was
so surprised and pleased. I gave my customer service instructor a memory
wire bracelet I'd made and I was certain she'd like that since I heard her
bangle bracelets jingling during class. I was right, she loved it.

Never thought when I signed up for Krafter's Korner how much I would be able
to learn and share, and never knew that crafting might give me the courage
to attempt new challenges not craft-related.

So thank you all in KK.

Cathy
