Bran,

If you want to just be on the list that is perfectly Ok and you don't need
to be a paid member to be on this list. If you want to participate in the
classes that are provided here then you need to be a paid member to do
that. If you want people on this list to help you indivisually that is
between you and that person.

I think themajority of folks get involved with the classes and help each
other work thru the class. If you want something special to be taught here
if you ask we usually can get a teacher to teach it in a class if there is a
few folks interested in learning something. If you are looking for a one
to one teacher student thing then that is between you and the person
willing to spend the time helping just you. If you attend a class you get much
more help learning from each other. Now as far as promoting an idea such as
a exchange of holiday ornaments, it is up to you to promote your idea and
if you want to talk to me about promoting an idea like this please do
contact me. Maybe we can get some ideas going on ornament classes, but I do
think this is something that might have been anidea that would have done
better if you brought this up say in the summer before the Christmas in August
classes to chat it up on the list and then it is up to you to follow thru
with it. I do remember you mentioning this last year in the fall, but it
takes some planning and organizing way in advanced.

I am planning classes and approaching folks now to think about classes
after the first of the year.

Now as far. It is more of a problem when folks are replying to things
that have nothing to do with what is in the subject line. as Off topic emails,
just put an OT and watch the subject lines. It is not a problem if we do
that instead of

Hi, I'm right about the time needing to renew, but I'll be honest I hadn't
decided if I was going to or not because of the amount of people insisting
they could answer questions, but then when I asked they were rarely
answered. Then a few people said they would try to help on the phone, and
never followed through. So as I saw the pumpkin talked about today I
thought
about joining for a second year, but I wonder if others found the same
thing?

People wanted an ornament exchange last year so I posted the form to the
list, and got 2 replies 1 for someone who was willing to help organize, and
1 person wanting to participate. The lack of follow through doesn't make it
where people decide it is worth it.

I also have been upset with the decisions of who gets in trouble for off
topic posting. I've twice been scolded for answering an off topic post, but
when I asked if we could taper the off topic posts I was told I have a
delete key. This didn't line up.

So I'll probably try for 1 more, and I'd be happy to attempt the exchange
of
ornaments again if people are interested, but I think people need to keep
their commitments.

I am a bit disappointed and don't understand, we have less paid members for
the NFB Krafters Division this year then we had last year at the same time.
By the end of this week Krafters Korner will have offered 42 classes this
year and where else can you get that many classes for $10? You can't get
one class for ten bucks. These are special teachers willing to teach you
a
craft class that are blind or deal with the blind and know how to put into
words what your hands are suppose to be doing.

For those of you who have paid your membership dues, I thank you. For each
and every one of you it is your job to spread the word to others about
Krafters Korner, NFB Krafters Division, _www.KraftersKorner.org_
(http://www.KraftersKorner.org)

The more people you talk to and tell, the more people we will have for
members to share, teach and learn crafting from.

If you have an NFB Convention in your state why don't you consider giving
an
NFB Krafters Division membership away as a door prize?

The more paid members we have, , the more different type of crafting
experience will be here and more classes for everyone to learn from more
teachers willing to teach.
