Hi Lillie,

For work or in the past for my daughters teachers I usually make some type
of ornament or small type of thing. Some ideas are:

Crocheted snowflake
Knitted mini stocking with chocolate kisses in them
Mini pair of mittens with a loop connecting them and for hanging on a tree
or where ever.
Crocheted mini pair of ice skates, again with a single loop for hanging.
Knitted or crochet mini gift bag filled with about 10 pieces of candy.
Crocheted or knitted bookmarks.
Knitted or crocheted refrigerator magnets
Knitted or crocheted decorative pins for shawls, jacket or on a blouse
Crocheted decorative hair scrunchie
Knitted Ear warmer band
Knitted or crocheted coffee mug cozies
Knitted or crocheted bracelets and necklaces
Knitted or crocheted change purse
Knitted or crocheted eye glasses case
Crocheted stress balls
Crocheted decorative basket or bowl. This would also be a good felting
project, although felting is still on my To-Do list.
Washcloth sets with a bar of nice smelling soap or bottle of body wash.
Knitted or crochet cowl. This is a bigger project)

I've attempted various crocheted candy cane covers, but have not been happy
with any of them. The little mice candy cane covers made of felt are the
cutest.

Other good gift ideas that I've not made but keep in the back of my head for
a someday project are:

Teapot cozy and potpourri filled hot pad for under the teapot.
Lunch bag or lunch mat that folds up around all of the little things you
need to carry with a lunch. Or maybe it is big enough to have the entire
lunch or lunch container wrapped up in it.
Place mats
Knitted or crocheted organizer for next to the couch or bedside.
Knitted or crocheted scarves, hats and mittens individually or as a set in
some combination of these items. Again, a bigger project.

HTH,
Annette

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is enjoying the last days of their summer vacations.

With the Christmas in August stuff going on around here I am starting to
think about my gift giving plans. I would love to give more handmade stuff
this year. Last year I gave a few dishcloths, and everyone seemed to enjoy
that, which is giving me courage to make more handmade things this year.

I am on the board and an active member of my local chapter.

I want to give a little something to my fellow board members and to the
regular general members at the December meeting. In all this is about 15
people, throwing in a couple extras in case some new people or those who are
not regulars come to the meeting.

I am wondering what kinds of gifts would be appropriate for this. I would
probably do several variations of gifts, but I'm not sure. Has anyone done
this for their chapter or other group? What things did you make? How were
the gifts received?

I'd love to hear any other gift suggestions as well.

Thanks,

Lillie
