Hello  everyone: OH, that is so cool.   Neat.  You must cook often to need
that many spices.  I once used cardamom in a pound cake--trippy tasting
spice that is.  I did not like saffron and for what it costs, something like
$6 for what looked like half a teaspoon, I'm glad I don't. grin.  Best

I am so excited!  My birthday present finally arrived.  My husband ordered
it about a month before my birthday, but, the fellow he ordered it from
never made it.  Then about a month ago he asked another fellow to make it.
What is it?
 
It is a custom spice rack for my kitchen.
 
I buy my spices in bulk packages.  Then I put them in these stainless
canisters.  I have all the canisters brailled and as well as print labeled.
I have over 60 canisters.  Anyway, I have wanted a rack to hang on the wall
so I could organize my spices alphabetically so I don't have to spend so
much time rifling through to find what I am looking for.  Last October we
asked a friend who is a contractor to make it and he said he would.  We gave
him three months and he still hadn't started the project.  So, we finally
got up the nerve to tell him we were going to have someone else do the job.
That of course didn't go over well, but, he wasn't doing the job he had said
he would finish in November.
 
Fast forward to January .  My husband asked a fellow he works with if he
would be interested in the job and the guy said sure. Today the spice rack
arrived!   I have the most beautiful spice rack!  And you know what he did?
This guy likes to do in-laid work in his woodworking.  Well for me he
surprised us and in-laid little wood pegs to make the braille word spices on
the top of the rack.  Very cool!
