Hello,

There are two basic types of actual stitch markers. One kind is hard plastic and is shaped like a
chunky safety pin. It closes in the same way a safety pin does, locking closed. This kind is good
for projects where you don't want to chance it falling out. I use this kind for crochet and needle
knit items. The other type is called a split ring stitch marker and is made of flexible plastic and
is shaped like a flat ring with a slit. These are good for loom pegs because they can be moved
easily on and off the pegs, and fit either underneath or on top of loops and will stay on pegs that
have knobs on top.
just search or ask for stitch markers at your favorite craft store.
Cathy
