Barb, since we'll be working several different styles of braids, I got one 
of the assortment findings Kumi kits from Cousins.

A basic 8-strand round braid made with 2mm cord will likely take an 8mm end 
cap.

BTW, my 2mm cord braids work out just fine without a weight but I have to 
have one for thinner cords. Went out to the garage to get fishing weights 
but found wreath magnets first. It works great! I just finished a 10-strand 
Christmas braid on the plate.
