[Nfb-krafters-korner] Current happenings

I am not doing Braille Cards, but wanted to share what I and Terry Knox were doing for Krafters Korner.  Terry made crochet roses, wreaths and ghosts that we will be selling.  I have made crochet bunnies, ghost, and  snowflakes.  I have also made clothespin snowmen.  So excited to see how all this works out this year!

We also have our Make and Takes ready to go.  We are making a 4th of July rocket out of a person's name.  Come and make one for yourself or a friend.  We also have a very cool Braille or Print Paperclip man!

Can't wait to see everyone!!!

This sounds so great, and really exciting. Thanks for the update on this, your designs and your ideas sound excellent, love the idea about coloring in the braille designed, maybe we could include a crayon. I am so thrilled with what you are doing, and can not wait to hear how it will go over at convention. You need to be congratulated for all you are doing on this project.

Some of us are working on Braille greeting cards.  I am excited to see what other people are doing.  I have hearts, cats, sailboats, trucks and flags, teddy bears, and more.  Some of these figures can be combined.  We will find out at convention what the response is.  I have showed them to some people who really like them.  If there is time, I will offer the buyers a chance to copy the words from the front in print.  Then the inside can have a personal message in print or I will put it in Braille, again if there is time.  We can also encourage buyers to send them to kids who may wish to color in the Braille designs.  If this catches on at convention, we will have to talk about marketing during the year.  Could be a real fun project and bring in some money besides!

Hi Terry and all,

I miss hearing from everyone on the list as well. I check every day to see what is happening. I haven't been doing any new crafty things so have had nothing to say.
However, I am well, busy with morning exercise classes at the health club and afternoons in the garden. Lately, I've been dodging thunderstorms as well.

Hope others are doing well and hope to hear from you soon.  the first summer after I joined the group I felt rather left out with all the talk of the convention since I was not attending. However, folks assured me that I was not the only one staying home and that helped. So if you are out there and feeling left out, don't. most of us are still around waiting for classes to start up again. My seven point snowflake macramé class will be in August, though it is not up on the site yet, you can look forward to it. hopefully, there will be other interesting classes coming up soon.
