Keep in mind that most airlines will allow you to bring 2 carry-ons with you
and in most cases this does not include a purse.  So maybe a backpack and a
carry-on.  If your "goods" are light weight, maybe using one large suitcase
that meets the requirements.  What airlines are you traveling on?

You might want to compare the cost of paying for a second suitcase to the
cost of shipping and any fees that the hotel might charge.
