[Nfb-krafters-korner] Creating a business

When I looked into a business where I live, the rules said that I had to
register with the state as a business and get a business tax ID number. As
long as I did not make over $10,000 a year, I did not have to submit reports
or pay taxes on a quarterly basis to my local government. The zoning
regulations said that I could identify a portion of my house as where I ran
the business out of, but it could not be over a certain percentage of the
total space in my house, and my customer base could not generate extra
vehicle traffic or parking in the neighborhood. If I did want to conduct
business with my customers in my home there were a bunch of zoning and fire
codes that had to be met.

So even though there are a number of regulations, none of them ended up
pertaining to me.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm still in colleege so I was thinking of making
this really small. Does the licensing/tax requirements apply even if I'm,
lets say only selling 50 dollars worth of stuff a month?
It does sound really daunting.
