I wanted to let you folks know that I got the Kindel to read a couple of
the books. I do have a question regarding the Kindel Fire. Is that what it
is called? Well My oldest son purchased this for his Dad when he was in
the hospital the beginning of March. He then loaded it up with a bunch of
sci fi books that both of them loved.

That is why I had asked on the list if anyone knows anything about the
Kindel and could it read books to us. Apparently the first Kindel that came
out did not have the capability of doing this, but since this one was less
then 2 months old I had my 10 year old Princess take a look at it for me.
Well all she wanted to do is hook up to the internet and check out the games
for it. She also told me if I couldn't get it to work, could she have it.
Well she already has the I Pad and when her Mom took a look at it I said
if I couldn't get it to work I would give it to the middle Princess. I
know I had given my old IPhone to the oldest and she passed it down to the
middle and I figured that would get passed down to the youngest or whatever.
I had given the middle my old laptop and her Daddy said it is sooooo slow,
but she didn't mind.

Well I brought the Kindel with me to my friend's house who has her son in
his twenties and her Grandson in his twenties living there and I handed it
over to them to see if they could get it to talk.

Well they got it to talk and read the screens and nothing special had to be
done in order for it to read the books that were on it.

I got the book "Sewing Can Be Dangerous" and started listening to it.
Cindy Sheets has a special plan for us, that she will tell us later about.

I just wanted to say that the newer Kindels have not sure if it is text to
speech, but it does read the screens and books. I will be learning lots
more on what this can do and will share in the future.

Anyone using a Kindel Fire now can you please tell me if there is finger
strokes or what to continuously read. It seems when I first start it I get
it to do that, but if I stop it and then try to continue it does not
continuously read.
