Subject: Re: [Nfb-krafters-korner] flower loom question

I had a flower loom many years ago that I used to make some really decorative pillows.
They were round or square, and had 12 pegs in the inner and outer rows.
They aren't hard to use at all -- all I did was make a large flower using only the outer pegs, and then make a smaller inner flower of a different color on the inner pegs. Then I slid the whole 2-row flower off the loom and crocheted them together into a pillow cover or bed spread.
My favorite creation was a 6-sided flower pillow with yellow flowers with orange center flowers, crocheted together with deep green yarn.
It had a really dazzling effect.
Like "Granny Squares", the flowers have open spaces or holes, so I had to sew a lining for the pillow, but that was no problem.

Has anyone ever crocheted a pillow or rug using a grape stitch? Those are fun, and people love them, and admire them on the couch.
I made a varigated purple one for my grandma, and a bright red one for Mom.
It's funny to think back over all the crafts I did when I was younger. Now that I'm back in the hospital and have all this time, I'm beginning to dig into some of it again.
I just finished one of the baby booties I am teaching the email class on next month. I hope a ew people sign up. I'm trying some alternative techniques to see if any one is best, or maybe I'll let people choose.

Happy krafting.

Hi,
The flower loom I have is like the larger round ones but the smallest one. I would sure like to know how to make flowers on it.
Thanks
Lauren

Portia, I am not familiar with the flower loom you describe, the flower loom I have is round with 12 pegs.
The loom you describe is it round, oval, rectangular?
