Yes, it does get confusing and I too have signed up for things and forgot.  I have a new system that seems to be working for me.  When I sign up for a class, I put it on my calendar with a reminder.  I also started a folder in my inbox that is called KK Classes.  When I sign up for a class the e-mail confirmation comes.  I put that e-mail confirmation in the KK Classes Folder so I have a copy readily available.  You can also add notes to the e-mail and save it if you need to remember something special about the class like what supplies you will need etc.
