[Nfb-krafters-korner] trouble with a crochet pattern

I'm looking at the v stitch scarf on the lion brand site and I'm not sure what order of dcs and chains I need to do at the end of each row.  I guess I'm asking if I should do a regular v stitch at the end, or maybe do three dcs as I would do at the end of a row when doing shells?  I hope I'm making since.  I wish I had a better pattern that I could understand.  Thanks for any help.
