Hi Portia,

The serenity loom is a hobbie lobbie brand of S loom. Here is the
description of the loom from the site:

This Serenity Loom allows you to knit pieces up to 8 feet wide.

The loom measures approximately 8 1/2" x 25 1/2" with 5/8" space between
each plastic hook.

So if you want a blanket 36 by 36, what you must do is to make a swatch to
determine how many pegs you need to cast on. For example, make a swatch 20
pegs wide and a couple of inches long. Take it off of the loom , then
measure it to see how many inches across it is. Play with it till you know
how many pegs to cast on for an inch. Of course you can only do this once
you have the yarn you plan to use, because the yarn thickness effects how
wide the piece will be.

I suggest a 5or 6-ply for a 5/8 inch gauge loom so the yarn suggested in an
earlier post by LM would be perfect.
Cathy
