Everyone who will be using the spool knitter will need some way to mark peg 
one on the eight-peg end of the spool. I have a self-adhesive dot like a 
loc-dot (do they still have those?) just below the rim of my designated peg 
one. A stitch marker that slides over the top of the peg, o-ring or twist 
tie could also be used.

Glad you were able to find the Crochet Dude, Catherine. A friend handed me 
one the other day while we were looking for needles. I couldn't justify it 
except I don't have one in that color. I have so many knitting tools for 
both needle and loom, small to large gauge,  that I should never buy 
anything else, ever!

After 2 Walmart’s and at the second Michael’s my daughter spotted item with 
5 pegs on one end and 8 pegs on the other;  called   the Crochet Dude, 
knitting spool. Really, I kid you  not.
I am ready for this class, in the meantime I will play with some yarn.
Thanks for your suggestions. I doubt this is the last spool that I buy - so 
many to choose from.
I am on digest mode for emails; sometimes it is difficult to get to the ones 
I want to read.
