[Nfb-krafters-korner] Figure 8 loom

Hi Karen
The needle I know for afghan is a combination between a knitting needle with the stop at the end and a crochet hook at the start. One row has all the stitches on the needle and the next row all the stitches are crocheted off the needle. The third row you pick up the stitches from the previous row, knitting them all back onto the needle. Don't know whether we are talking of different things because of the different terms in different countries, smiles.

Hettie,

I'm of the belief that an afghan is best worked on a double rake knitting board. I'm currently working on an afghan on a 60-peg board and will make two panels to sew together. I only have about four inches done on the first panel. It is my every once in a while project.

Sorry for my ignorance, smiles.
How does one do afghan on a loom? I only know the afghan pen that looks like
a knitting pen with a hook at the beginning to pick up the stitches of the
previous row so you can work them all off again in the next row. Hope this
makes sense, smiles.

Barb,

Which loom would you recommend, the KB afghan loom or the cindy wood
universal loom? I am planning on buying an afghan loom soon and I want to
get the best one for my money. :)
