Hettie, I learned this one from our own Cathy, smile. From your base chain,
pick up the stitches on your afghan needle. On the last loop picked up put a
stitch marker, safety pin, anything you have handy to remind you this is the
last vertical bar to be picked up on the next forward pass. If you
consistently do this on every forward pass your left end will be straight.

No I don't love it very much because it is difficult to keep the edges
straight. Learning loom knitting is much more fun and Lekker. Lekker is the
Afrikaans word for great, delicious, wonderful, the list goes on and on
because the word fits all nice things one enjoys.
