Michelle,

Welccccome to Krafters Korner. The NFB Krafters Division at National
Convention has a Craft Show Annually and we have a table there with a few
folks from the division to talk about the division and classes. The best
part of this is our "Make and Takes". [I took this name from Girl Scouts, as
I volunteer in the summer at a GS Camp]

We have supplies and talk to the folks and describe how to make a quick
project. We usually have a couple of projects for them to basically make
and take.

We have done in the past Origami, Butterflies out of beads and cheneele
stems,, etc. We also hand out information and website address for NFB
Krafters Division. www.KraftersKorner.org

We encourage folks to check out our classes and sign up for a class.

Last year we offered 69 different classes. Once you take your first free
class, we encourage folks to join and become a paid member of the division.
As paid members can take as many classes they want all for their membership
fee which is $20, July to July.

I have a feeling we might if not tie last year's number of classes, beat
last years numbers.

You found us at a good time, but half the month is over now, as we have Xmas
in August classes going on now until the end of the month.

We also have classes via telephone conference call and email classes.

Our members expand all over the World and we are always looking for new
folks to join. Our teachers are visually impaired/blind and put into words
what your hands are suppose to be doing.

I hope you will take a class and become a member. Most of all I hope you
spread the word about KraftersKorner.org

Joyce Kane

Hello,

My name is Michelle Clark and I am interested in crafts. Prior to my vision
loss, I was "The Craft Queen". Several members of the Chapter in which I am
President are interested as well but I took the first plunge and joined the
list.

On Nov 7, we are having our Annual County Resource Day and are adding a few
other topics to spice up the event. One of the members wants to run an
exhibit table for blind persons to do crafts. Her sight has now diminished
to a point where she can no longer see what she is doing either. However,
we know better.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Anyone in the DC Metro area who would
like to come out and assist us? We want to see how far this can go. For
certain, some new members to the Division.

If I do not fall asleep Monday, I will be on the conference call.

Thanks,

Michelle
