Hello Everyone,

As I begin to feel like I am just about out from under the overwhelming
events of the holidays, I decided that I'd better get a message out about
the upcoming Kitchener Stitch Knitting class coming up in early February.
If you want to learn a technique for seaming 2 pieces of knitted fabric
together, come learn how to do the Kitchener stitch. If you have already
signed up, then you are ready to do the prerequisite homework. Since I
cannot remember who has already written to me about needing the homework, I
decided to post it here. Hopefully, it will entice other to sign up for the
class. If you have not yet signed up, run on over to

http://www.krafterskorner.org/class/kitch.html

and sign up for the "Mastering the Kitchener Stitch" conference call class
no later than February 3.

Required Homework:

You will need to knit 2 stockinet swatches based on the following
instructions.

Cast on 20 stitches

Row 1: Knit across row

Row 2: Pearl across row

Repeat these 2 rows until piece is at least 2 inches long. You can make it
longer if desired, i.e. until piece is as long as it is wide so that you
have a square when you are done.

Do not bind off work.

Cut yarn leaving a 24 inch tail.

Place on stitch holder, or on a spare needle, or you can leave it on your
working needle while you create the 2nd swatch.

Repeat these instructions for creating the 2nd swatch.

Once both swatches are complete, place one swatch on each of your needles if
you are using straight needles, or both swatches on your circular needle.
Be sure that for each swatch the tail of each piece is closest to the point
of the needle .

You are now ready to join us on Saturday February 7

At 3:00pm eastern time. Be sure to get signed up prior to the sign up
deadline so that I can get the conference call dial-in number to you.
