[Nfb-krafters-korner] Textures

Ramona
It works like knitting one row and crochet the next picking up the stitches
of the previous row. My problem is when I reach the end of the row to know
which is the first stitch of the previous row as I have no definite row-end
like when knitting with two needles. Hope this is somewhat clearer.

Hettie, I am guessing you are knitting, not crochet. Try putting a stitch
marker or safety pin every ten or twenty-five stitches. Then check to see
where you are adding a stitch. As you count, you may be able to figure out
where you are adding a stitch an fix it. There is a good chance you are not
getting a few stitches off the needle as you knit them. Then you have an
extra stitch on the next row.
If you work on something sort of small like a pot holder or neck scarf, and
keep your stitches pretty loose, you will be able to find your errors more
easily. You may find they are easier to feel on the stockinette stich than
on the garter stitch. Of course, a friend with more experience may also be
able to help if you can get together. If you find your error on the next
row and need help fixing it, one of the knitters on this list may be able to
help. Don't hesitate to write one of us offlist. If you need help
figuringout addresses, I think there are some here who can help you do that,
also.

Hi Becky
How do you keep the afghan sides straight? I always have problems not to
increase stitches at the end and start of each row. I'd love to make a
pull-over for myself but it grows and grows in width as I go along, smiles.

Has anyone worked with Textures yarn from Lion Brand?

Talk about being purposeful as you use this yarn. I am making two afghans
for customers. One is with Homespun from Lion Brand. You know if you used
this yarn the stitches fall off your needles perfectly smoothly. But with
Textures you have to make it your business to be purposeful pulling up the
yarn to the height of your needle. But wow, what a glorious yarn with all
its magical colors blending and fading from one to another.

Homespun goes faster, but the blending of color is great with Textures.
