It depends where the baby lives or when the baby will be born.  A must for
which ever yarn you use hbe sure it is washable and dryable by machine.

They make beautiful yarns in the thin, dk, worstered or bulky yarns. They
have wonderful cotton & acrylic yarn blens.  So if baby is being born in
November any of the above thickness will work.
