[Nfb-krafters-korner] loom search for upcoming class

We will be making a few short i-cords in class.

I totally agree the little notch on the top of the Boye pegs is valuable -
especially when working the flat knit. I often use worsted weight and
thinner yarns and the notch is a godsend. The pegs are also a bit taller
than on the Knifty Knitter spool tool, which helps to keep the loops spaced
with multiple wraps.

If I'm purchasing the large round or long loom sets, I'm getting the Darice
or Michaels Loops and Threads, but I'm holding tight to the Boye-made Jumbo
Spool Knitter. These other companies don't seem to make the large spool
knitter.

Karen

Neat. So, it is a skill that definitely must be learned for a variety of
projects. I'll have to put it on my list.

I cord can be used for handles, drawstrings, baby hat ties, etc.

I've heard the term i-cord. What can I do with them? I'm assuming maybe a
handle for a bag of some sort, but are there other uses?

Hi Greg

A nice option for a small I-cord loom is called the clover wonder knitter.
This loom comes with two disks, one having 3 pegs and the other having six.
You place the disk of your choice on one end of the knitter and away you go.
there is a small hole on the side of the spool so you can touch your work
and check to see how it is coming along. the other end of the knitter is
open. This spool loom is made of heavy plastic and the disks can be switched
easily. I love it for I-cords.

You can find this item on Amazon at the following link:

arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1438023772&sr=1-4&keywords=spool+loom

however, I do not know if this item will work for Karen's class. what do you
think Karen?
