Cathy,

I happen to agree. I in no way was saying we shouldn't welcome folks. I was 
merely using that as one example that wasn't being talked about in the "to 
much mail" discussion. I simply delete what I don't want to read. And, 
welcome to all the new folks.

Hello all,

Personally, I think that greeting new members is a nice thing to do and
should not be curtailed. As long as the subject line reflects that it is a
response to a new member I see no problem with it. as a matter of fact, when
I first joined, I particularly appreciated the welcome greetings I received.
It was nice to have people welcome me instead of ignoring me. So I always
send a hello to newcomers.
So that's my 2 cents on the matter.
