How large are these items.  I think miniature and think small like how can
you feel what these things are?  Would you estimate them to be a quarter
inche?

Then folks say how detailed they are.  I am thinking you need eyes to see
the details.  Are they large enough to feel the details?

This is fun, you can type in a search for dollhouse supplies, one favorite
of mine is Consumer Crafts and type in miniatures or doll houses, but there
are many more. I love reading about mini dogs, tools, dishes, flip flops,
but also discober them as game pieces, magnets, all over the place. Example
a dollhouse trash can is a coffee creamer. Doughnuts are Cheerios, when
sealed. You can find mini bones in dog food kibbles and seal them. You can
make mini snowballs by painting fake pearls with snow paint. And so much
more, using caps from bottles and so much more. Make a mini pillow, put some
mini bones on it and use a Christmas ornament dog to sit on the pillow. It
is endless.

These houses sound like a real treasure, and you have something not seen
much anymore. It makes me jealous at your great treasure. However, you are
Never to old for a dollhouse. I am making one for my one granddaughter and
hope it will be passed down. If I started telling you about all the adorable
things you can build like, fireplaces, putting shingles on the roof,
decorating a room for Christmas, all year around and lighting up the mini
lightsand changing the house for each season, I could convince you to make
one. You can make one room a craft room, and fill it with minis of sewing
machine, yarn, sciffors and so many small things. I have also seen this type
of things done in old cabinets, with glass doors and each shelf with a
different scene. One shelp Christmas, Next a nursery for a special child in
your life. Next shelf a summer sceen with a pool, outside games like
volleyball net, horseshoes, picnic tables and summer. Did get you to think
about starting a doll house again?

Terry,

I also love the little fairy gardens. At one point in time, I wanted to do a
doll house, but I am past that. When my father was stationed in Germany, he
started getting my mother some miniature houses that were extremely
detailed. Later, I spent a summer in London studying photography and picked
up some more of the houses in Scotland. The thatched roof is finely detailed
on the one I have and the interiors are amazing.
