Terry, pair a hand signal with the word you use for move. So you are moving
notice the dog  do the hand signal I make a circle with my hand or finger,
then the word you all use for her to move. Then when she does move show her
again the hand signal and praise her to the noon, not loud but in a happy
quiet voice. Eventually you will be able to just use the hand signal or her
seeing you move might be enough to get her in better places. Also find safe
places for her to lay and praise her when she is in these places off the
foot path. So every time you pass her off the foot path tell her good girl
in a happy voice. If she starts to pull you going outside, tell her to sit
in a matter of fact voice. Don't yell. Tell her. Then when she is quiet in a
soft voice tell her to heal. But if she pulls, she sits. She will get it
that you are serious. Henry work on this for Terry. Use your cane and make
her heal next to you on a loose leash. 

I am not in a wheelchair any longer. But yes there is training for people in
power chairs to be guided by a guide dog. Not sure exactly which schools are
teaching this, but heard Southeastern does. Guide Dogs for the blind did
this for a long time. Seeing Eye will, but you have to be a grad of their
school first. 
I should think Guiding Eyes does this also as they have a Special Needs,
Becky wrinkles nose, program.

See you can fly!  I would love to meet you and your humor!  If you use a
wheel chair, how do you use a guide dog?  
I do not think Sophie really understands that I can not see, like her master
can not see.   I sure am glad she is black, on a lite rug, or I really would
be in trouble.  I call her my chalanger dog or my obstacle course!!!
Surprising, I can take her out, with my walker, but she still pulls a bit to
much.

Lauren, when I traveled in my manual wheelchair, the Flight Attendants
folded the chair up and put it in a closet in First Class. Hey at least part
of me flew in First Class, giggle. I felt so much better knowing it was
nearby, smile. I had a name for my wheelchair, "Joy Wheels."

Hi,
I decided to get a wheelchair instead of a rollator because the wheelchair
folds in so it takes up less room when I am not using it. Hopefully it will
take up less room on the plane, too. It cost less too. I got it on eBay.

Lauren;
Have you ever tried a walker.  I use a relater walker, which has a seat,
when ever I get tired.  They can be baught on Ebay for about $125 where in a
medical store, they are about $500.  My insurance only covered half for my
first one, so we tried ebay and got a great deal.  I will try to find you
and show it to you.  It helps to take pressure of your back and your legs
and feet do not hurt as much.
With my walker, I can almost keep up with Henry and Sophie, four paw
drive!!!
Check with the NFB or your chapter and one should be able to find some
people to assist you in getting around.  There will be volenteers at the
convention.
See you at convention.

I put you down for Monday, 7/6, at 11:00-1:00.
Big chears for Lauren.  She is the first to sign up to help, in the exibit
hall!
