[Nfb-krafters-korner] Plastic canvas

Sorry Terry,

I am reading emails backwards. Yes, they did have the 10 count plastic
canvas, but that was way too small.

I did get a large sheet of both sizes. It was larger then an 8 1/2 by 11
sheet of paper. I probably would have done better with the 4 inch squares.

I use 7 count canvas. I do not think I have even seen the 5 count.. I have
tried 10 count and I have seen the canvas with tiny holes, like doing needle
point.
I get friends to cut my canvas. You want the outer edge to be smoothe.
Most likely you are going to yarn over that edge so you want that edge to
not fray the yarn.
When doing something on a full sheat, I do the stitching and then cut it
out. If I want more of the same, then my friends have a guide they can cut
from.

When cutting, always leave an exteriar
Bar, around the item for edging and cut outside this bar.

Coaster is made of 26 slanted stitches, but 27 squares. If cutting it out,
yourself, cut below the 27 square and to the right of the 27 square, cutting
out a block, 27 by 27.
The left and top, make the other 2 sides.

If I am making an item smaller than a 4 inch square, I find it easier to use
the 4 inch square and have it cut down. It is easier to work on a small
piece than a large sheat.

Hope all this makes sence.

Terry P.

Terry,

What size canvas did you tell us to ghet? I was in Joann's and could not
remember if it was 7 or 5 per inch, so I got both, but don't want to start
anything until you advise which one to use.
One other thing when you cut the plastic is there any special way to cut the
edges?

The larger pieces are for larger projects but the coasters are exact to the
size of the squares.

Thanks a bunch. My mom did see the package of 4 inch squares at Walmart. I
got confused, because they also have the mesh plastic canvas as well.
