I used the wrong words when I called the Junior Crafters Group a division,I 
meant that if it became a reality,that it could be incorporated into the K K 
division.

To add to this the class size would need to be very limited.  2 or 3 young
children at most per class.  Plus age recommendations for the craft would be
important.  The dexterity of a younger child and a middle schooler are quite
different.

Just another opinion. I agree this is a wonderful idea. However, I agree
with Joyce, totally separate, they could not be combined. There would have
to be one leader over others who would like to do this, who have the gift of
teaching children, they have a short attention span and lose interest
quickly, and they are the sighted children. This would be really great, but
there has to be those who can take on this big project.

I will be speaking with MaryAnn to plan this out and get it going.  You are
really jumping the gun with it being a Junior  Crafting Division.  I would
like to  get this going as a child and parent working together and spinning
off and bringing the teens and college age under our roof.

I have tried in the past going to meetings at Convention talking with the
groups regarding the Krafters Division.

I have had plenty of years working with kids & crafting working the summers
at Girl Scout camp for the last many summers.  Yes, they were sighted kids,
but kids are kids.

I think that this is a great idea. It would help to boost a childs self
esteem,and confidence. I'd like to help out with this Junior Crafters
Division.

I am a teacher of students who are blind and visually impaired and on groups
for parents to help answer questions.  Parents are starting to have
discussions about Christmas presents for blind children and one mom said she
taught her daughter to make pot holders on a loom.  That made me think this
might be a great way to expand our group.  We could begin a group for the
junior blind so they could learn crafting from a young age.  I have noticed
that many things my generation would not be caught dead doing are popular
with my children and their children.  I would certainly be happy to help get
the information out if this is something we would like to work on.  We could
set up a few special classes for kids.  I am thinking of kids 10 and older
but that is just a thought.
