[Nfb-krafters-korner] Henry's class?

Extremely well said. Comment: I ask the list members, each of you...Which
one wants to step in and be President? We have a list of responsibilities
now that we have created them, and they are quite esxtensive. Who amoung us
wants to take over, looking for someone to step up and keep running what has
built for 8 years. We have all built it like the wheel, the members are the
spokes and the center is the board but the hub is Joyce. Who wants to take
over her duties, please step up, Who can and wants to do it, after it is
such a well paying position. Just kidding for those who are new. Not me, too
much work, too much grief. But still want to hear, who is up to taking this
on?

We need to have rules so things can run smoothly. I would like to see
teachers submitting class proposals 8 weeks before the class begins. It is
hard enough to get teachers to contact me to get a date and then submit a
class proposal 5 or 6 weeks before the beginning of the class.

If the teacher submits a class 2 or 3 weeks before the class begins it takes
a certain length of time to post the class to the website. I do not know
anything about doing websites.

A date was given back in August for this class and the teacher forgot to do
the proposal. The last week our WebMistress computer hard drive crashed
and I found that out today. We are dealing with people who are giving
their time and efforts to do classes. I thank all of the teachers for doing
this job.

I don't know where else you can get as many free classes that are given by
people and work to put descriptions into words for each of the blind people
here. I don't know where you can find crafting classes for the blind and
visually impaired. I don't know where else you can have an email list to
ask your How tos as a blind person and get answers fast without even being a
paid member. You know they say, "You get what you pay for!" Well you are
getting it for free around here. I wish you all remember that and help with
keeping this running, by giving a class, showing up for classes you signed
up for donating some time to help organize or plan out something. It
doesn't hurt giving when you get so much back from this division.

I try very hard to keep things going and I do lots of classes, besides
attending Monday Night Chats and other's classes.

I did not get a set of rules or job description before I started this
division. I am always here to listen to suggestions and ideas, but help is
needed to keep things running smoothly.

Joyce Kane, President
NFB Krafters Division

There is a problem with the way class sign ups are done. It is just wrong
for us instructors to have to plan way out and know all of this information
and then students to have to wait till the very last minute. Because I did
not know about Henry's class even though he knew, in order to take that
class, I have to attempt to change my schedule. These classes need to be
posted as soon as the dates are set. If the current method of sign up does
not allow for that, then a new method needs to be found and it is doable.
Why does it have to be so hard? Is the group about rules and procedures or
is it about the spreading of information?

Henry,

Your class is starting October 22nd?

That is in 10 days and it isn't up for sign-up yet?
