This is a lacy scarf, an accessory item, not really made for warmth, however since we are using a wool or wool blend, if wrapped around the neck a couple of times it will give some warmth.
 so no not thick and quick, you want a #4 weight in order to see the lace pattern, you might get away with a thin #5, but I have not tried it.
