[Nfb-krafters-korner] two Ot'S

It is time for me to bowe out of this one. However, I must say this...I did not read where the church did not want yout oworship. Do you know if other members have been rejected? We need to enter worship with humility, not strife. Church is a place to worship God, not to perform. If you want to perform, then, find or start a community chorus. There is enough strife in churches
now, do not bring in additional. Please don't take this any further.

Lauren,

I personally think the underlying message that your church is sending you is an extremely negative one that I would not tolerate under any circumstances. I go to church in order to worship God, and for any puny human being to judge me according to their narrow view of the world, and say that I am unfit to worship because of a disability is not even discriminatory, but very hateful. I sing in a church choir at my college (I go to a Jesuit university) and the Liturgy director make it a point to provide electronic copies of all of the songs to me ahead of time so I can put them on my braille note. Since our choir consists of about 100 students, our rehearsals are broken up into the different sections so it's pretty easy for me to learn my soprano part along with everyone else. There have also been students with problems standing in my choir and their needs have been accommodated without any talk of how they look "unprofessional" or how they might be too big of a burden to accommodate. I really do hope you speak to someone about all your feelings or start looking for a different church because singing is a huge part of how I worship and I can't imagine someone denying me the opportunity to do so.

Minh
