Does anyone remember the old sock monkeys? Linda B brought that to mind when 
she mentioned the single sock stash she has.

Up cycling is taking something old, fixing it up and using it for something 
other than its original purpose.
You’ll see it a lot in gardening, home furnishing and decor, even clothing. 
Right now I’m seeing a lot of old dishes being glued and stacked on top of 
each other for bird feeders or bird baths and totems. Some are taking old 
plates, saucers and bowls and creating a flower. Old purses being used as a 
container for growing flowers. Old bi-fold doors with the slates in them, 
being connected together in a 90 degree angle, shelves added to it and used 
as a corner shelf. Lots of different things. It’s good for the environment, 
keeping things out of the landfills.
