A good instrument for the princes,is a pot or pan and a spoon,and a set of 
ear plugs for the rest of the family.

I  attended DC Public Schools. They taught flute in the Kindergarten and
first grade. Not a  sophisticated flute, but one with six holes and we had
to learn to manipulate those holes to play the notes. The first thing they
taught us was to play the scale. What a  task.

In Junior High, I switched lanes and delved at playing  the violin and
became a  member of the school orchestra. We even played at graduation. That
teacher had to be working to become the lead in the movie "Miracle Worker"
to make that orchestra  sound like it did on the day I  graduated.

In high school, while in the tenth grade, I  was able to get into piano
class and remained the three years until graduation. Even played the star
role in the year end recital in the 12 grade. I  played a  duet the piano
teacher. She made me practice like cra'a'a'a'a'a'azy!   I  guess she was not
to be embarrassed.

I  later began to play gospel music by ear. Not to forget that I  have been
singing various forms of music since the age of four. I  say all this to
say? "I  love music".

Back when I first went to the residential school for the blind,  there was a
"Recorder Chorus".  I always wanted to learn how to play the Recorder and be
in the Recorder Chorus.  Unfortunately, by the time I was old enough to do
it, they had cut the Recorder Chorus out.  While in college and working on
my music minor, I taught myself to play 2 songs on the recorder.  When my
daughter was in 1st grade, she had to learn how to play the Recorder, so I
dug mine out and learned with her.  That did not go over well with my
daughter and I had to stop.

I have begun teaching myself how to play the harmonica.  But I have not had
much time to really take it on seriously.

Gee whiz, that is excellent.  I always wanted to play an instrument, but
when I had the opportunity in school, my parents looked into a saxiphone [as
my Uncle had one] and I was too small for that.  The music teacher gave me a
glochinspiel and in the 4th grade banging on one key now and then didn't
hold my interest.

I just gave my 9 year old Grandaughter  and early Christmas present as she
wanted to do an instrument in the school and I bought her a clarinette.  My
oldest Princess is has band in middle school and she is learning the flute.
So next month check I will get her a flute for Christmas.  No they don't
have to wait for Christmas, but this was an easy way for me to go.

Now I have to think about the littlest Princess and the 2 Prince.

Hi,
I've always been blind so I didn't learn to play a musical instrument after
losing my sight. I play the piano, guitar, tambourine  and harmonica. My
cats even tolerate them!

I've always wanted to learn to play the flute or clarinet.

Has anyone learned to play an instrument since you lost your sight?  If Yes,
what instrument?  Are you still playing it?  Did you find it difficult to
learn?

If anyone out there has a dream to learn how to play, what instrument would
you like to learn?

No I am not giving music lessons, but I am considering learning an
instrument.[type of electronc music instrument]
