[Nfb-krafters-korner] cardigan and ponchos: was What is new out there?

Cardigans are probably my favorite items of clothing. Usually they
have buttons in the front or they can be completely open with no
closures. I've never seen a cardigan with a zipper; generally people
would call those sweaters or sweatshirts.

I feel kind of silly saying this, but I'm still really confused at why
these knitted items are called ponchos. ... When I think of a poncho,
I think of the things you wear when it's raining so you don't get wet,
not a wrap or sweater.

"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty
recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity:
but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on
their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible." T. E. Lawrence
