[Nfb-krafters-korner] two Ot'S

Lauren,

Have you thought about what God wants for you? In your responses you have talked about what you want with no mention about praying about the situation. Maybe God is speaking thru your pastor.

Consider taking a step back, pray for God's guidance & do not pressure the pastor or music director about singing.

I understand your frustration & those of us on the group who attend church have probably been in a similar situation in their church. Keep in mind that you are not the only person who has suffered this type of situation & after we are all gone from this world, people will still be suffering from this situation.

Remember, there are MANY different ways to serve God.

I wanted to share what was given to me with my congregation to glorify Jesus, who gave me the song I wanted to share. The pastor said no without hearing my song. He said no about my singing with the Praise Singers "because of complications," as he put it. (There are steps up to the platform and they probably think they smell liability issues if I fell; assuming I would fall). They seem only comfortable with me attending services and worshiping from the pew. They would rather see me healed from blindness. They this and they that; nothing about my wishes and/or abilities, which are God-given.

I would rather be in A Christian church, but I want to be accepted on equal terms. Wanting to be accepted fully on equal terms is not lacking in humility, "performing" or causing "strife" or appearing "less professional," for needing a chair etc.

> Well, since you did take the thread further, I was simply telling Lauren that if she wants to sing in a church choir, and her church is not giving her that opportunity, then she should speak to someone about her feelings or find another church. I don't see how that is creating strife. Maybe singing is not your way of worshiping God, but it is mine, and it is for other people as well, so please don't discount different ways of worshiping just because it's not yours.
