Have you sewn on a sewing machine before? So are you familiar with sewing?
Do you have some sighted help that could look at the manual and help you to
learn how to thread it and fill the bobbin?

Check online for the manual on this Brother machine. I did a search and was
able to download the manual for my Brother 420 and that gave me access to
it. So I can read it on my computer.

I did purchase my machine from a dealer on EBay whose business is in
Alabama. I called them up before I purchased it and spoke to them. They
are a Brother dealer. The price was the best and I did my research well
before I purchased it. I got an extended work area that I had spoken to the
lady about and she advised me well with that suggestion. I got this travel
tote on wheels to put it in that came free. It has a solid cover case and
that was no extra.

Give them a call and ask them to give you a price for the machine you are
considering. At least you will have someone to call up and ask questions
about it. You bring it home from WalMart you are on your own. I forgot
shipping is free, too.

Mine has the automatic self threader and it works great.

I could not figure out how to do the needle threader, so I called this place
up and talked to their tech folks and he talked me thru it. He had his
doubts if he could talk me thru it, but we did good.

I have been sewing since I was 11 years old. I have been sewing the last 18
years without any light perception. So I have talked blind folks thru
sewing on their machine and if you need any help I will be here to help you
out.

This is who I purchased it from. Sight unseen. I knew it was computerized,
but I figured I could figure it out and I did. I am still learning. This
is also where I found the manual and downloaded it from the website.

I will not be able to try out the machine before I purchase it because there
is not a craft store or a machine store near where I live, but I will be
able to look at the display model at my local Walmart. I do believe the
description said that it has knobs that you turn so hopefully it will work
for me it also has an automatic needle threader.
