[Nfb-krafters-korner] need some help with a crochet pattern Please.

Catherine, it does seem confusing. I believe it is saying to dc in the
first two stitches of the shell, then do a shell of v-st, in the center of
the previous row shell, which is the chain stitch or the top of the shell.
Then, dc the last two stitches of the shell.
Linda

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] need some help with a crochet pattern Please.

Hi All,

I am making a cardigan ans I am a bit confused with some of the pattern.

I have worked out row 1, to 4 but I think I have row 5 but not sure when I
read row 6 I feel so lost.I have the pattern below.

Any help will be so welcomed at this time.

Hugs Catherine.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, * sk2 ch, 5 dc in nt ch for shell,

sk2 ch, dc, ch1, dc in nt ch for v-st; rep from * to last 7

ch, sk2 ch, shell in nt ch, sk2 ch, dc in last 2 ch: 28

shells, 27 v-sts and 2 dc at each side.

Row 2: Dc in nt dc and in nt 5 dc of shell, * v-st in ch1 sp of

v-st, dc in nt 5 dc of shell; rep from * across, dc in last 2

     dc.

Rows 3 & 4: Dc in nt 6 dc, * v-st in nt v-st, dc in nt 5 dc; rep

from * across, dc in last 2 dc.

Piece should measure 35 (37) inches across.

Up to this point I think I did it ok, my daughter says it looks good.

Row 5: Dc in nt dc, * sk2 dc, v-st in nt v-st, sk2 dc, shell in nt

ch1 sp of nt v-st; rep from * across, end sk2 dc, v-st in nt

dc, sk2 dc, dc in last 2 dc.

With row 5 I read it to mean that I put a v stitch where a shell was and a
shell where a V stitch was? But when I got to row 6 this is where I have
got totally confused.

If anyone can help me and put it in a way I can understand it I would be so
grateful.

Rows 6 & 8: Dc in nt dc, shell in nt ch1 sp of nt v-st, * v-st in

3rd dc of shell, shell in nt v-st; rep from * across, end dc

     in last 2 dc.

Rows 7 & 9: Dc in nt dc, v-st in 3rd dc of shell, * shell in v-st,

v-st in 3rd dc of nt shell; rep from * across, end dc in last

     2 dc.

Row 10: Dc in nt dc, v-st in nt v-st, * dc in nt 5 dc of shell,

v-st in nt v-st; rep from * across, end dc in last 2 dc.

Rows 11 & 12: Dc in nt dc, v-st in nt v-st, * dc in nt 5 dc, v-st

in nt v-st; rep from * across, end dc in last 2 dc.

Row 13: Dc in nt dc, shell in nt v-st, sk2 dc, * v-st in nt dc,

shell in nt v-st; rep from * across, end dc in last 2 dc.

Rows 14-17: Rep Rows 7 and 13 alternately.
