The following are guidelines for instructors.

3 to 4 months prior to the beginning of your class:

Contact the division President to determine a date for your class.
Note that it is possible to hold a Monday night class during the Monday
Night Chat time period. This is available to you for a time slot, if your
class is a one night only class, and you will not be requiring participants
to sign up in advance.

10 to 12 weeks before class starts:

It is now time to book your class!

Fill in your class proposal.
Choose the appropriate form, phone class or email class.
Be sure to fill in all of the fields even if the field gets only a "not
applicable" designation.
Enter the dates for each individual session of your class. Check the
calendar and make sure that a session of the class isn't held on a holiday.
You will want to take that in to consideration when choosing your dates.
Some holidays may make a conflict for your students to attend all the
sessions of your class. In this case you may want to skip a week when
choosing the dates.

As for the registration deadlines please note that:
For Email Classes the registration deadline will need to be set as 10 days
prior to the beginning of the class
For Phone Classes: the deadline for registration should be set as 7 days
prior to the beginning of the class.

This allows time for the student lists to be compiled and sent to either the
web master for entering the email addresses, or the instructor to send out
the class phone number, and pass code to the students.

After verifying that all the information you entered is accurate, and that
you have not used all capital letters, submit your form.

5 to 6 Weeks before class starts

This is the time that your class should be posted to the web site.

When your class has been posted on the website, it is time for you to send
an announcement to nfb-krafters-korner at nfbnet.org about the class. The
announcement should mention that the new class is posted on the
www.krafterskorner.org website. This is the time for you to advertise your
class!

Stir up some interest by talking up your class, letting the crafters know
exactly what it is you are offering.

Point out supplies they will want to be gathering in time for the class.

2 weeks before class starts

This would be the time to send out a reminder about your class and the
approaching sign up deadline. This is important for both email and phone
classes. Remember for Email classes, the class list will need to be
compiled and sent to the web master by the division President at least a
week prior to the class. Phone numbers for phone classes need to be sent
out in order for class participants to have them well in advance of the
class. This is the reason that students will have to have their class
registrations in by the registration deadline.

1 week before class starts

Send out your phone class information to all of your students. This should
include the phone and pass code information, the date, time and name of the
class as well as instructor and instructor contact information.

Each day of class

When you hold your phone classes, it is very important that you make sure to
take attendance for each class. This is crucial for many reasons, not the
least of which is to whom you should send your written instructions for the
class, or class recordings.

At the end of class:

It is at this time that you will mail out written directions to your
students who attended your class. Also, if your class was recorded, you
would send out the link to those students as well to retrieve the recording.

If you are teaching an email class you will receive notification your class
email list is up and what the address to the email list is.

When you start the class it is advisable to send a welcome letter to the
class requesting all the class members check in. This way you can take
attendance and be assured all students are in fact receiving list messages.

Enjoy your classes!

Krafter's Korner has been here since 2007, and we have found that these
guidelines provide a respectful and pleasant atmosphere for everyone to both
benefit from and enjoy.

Thank you to all of the Krafter's Korner instructors and students.
