[Nfb-krafters-korner] Yarn

Hi Rena again;
The gauge is the space between the pegs on a loom, and vary as to the size
of the loo. They can be anywhere from a half inch to 3/8ths of an inch.
Also, the gauge can mean the number of stitches on a knitting needle or
crochet hook, for example, 4 stitches = 1 inch or 4 rows = 1 inch.
Happy to help again.
Henry

Subject: [Nfb-krafters-korner] Yarn

Dear Crafters,

We were speaking about yarns at the Monday night chat, but I was a
little confused. Some people were saying 5 and 6 work for the Knifty
Knitter, but nobody described what they meant by 5 and 6. Is that a
weight, a fiber, a ply, a gage...? Are ply and gage the same thing,
etc?

thanks a bunch for any assistance.

Oh, and would anyone recommend an online yarn store, or do you all
just head out to Michaels, AC MOre, etc?

Rena
