Welcome to the world of plastic canvas.
Sorry I did not answer  your question, sooner.  Work comes first!
Plastic canvas is a hard, but simi flexible grid of plastic, used for needle
point.
You can make flat and 3 dementional items of all kinds. Coasters, ornaments,
key chains, cleanex boxes and the list can go on and on!
When someone says they are using, 7 count canvas, this means there are 7
squares per inch.  It can come in different sizes, but 7 count is the
easiest to work with.
I use a size 16, large eyed needle and worsted   weight yarn.  Thin chord
can also be used and I have tried to add beads, once or twice.
Let me know of something you would like to make.  We might have to start
with something smaller to work up to what you want.
