The way it works is that you look through their catalog, fill out an
application, get enrolled and choose a course. Then you get a private link
if it is online. Many still aren't; you email your assignments to your
instructor.

Seminars at Hadley Presents:
The Lowdown on What's Up with Braille Literacy at Hadley
Date: Tuesday, August 9, 2016
Time: 10:00 AM CDT; 15:00 GMT

Want to know what’s going on at Hadley with Braille Literacy? Have you heard
that there is no point to learning braille because of changes in technology?
For Hadley, nothing could be further from the truth. If print is difficult
for you, or you can no longer see print at all, join us to hear other ways
to learn to read and write — and that includes using braille!

Whether you learn the entire code or the alphabet, braille can be a life
changing experience. You no longer have to wade through all kinds of
messages or other recordings to find a simple phone number or grocery list.
You won’t have to rely on your spouse or other family members to get
information for you. Learn how these six little dots can give you
independence, self-confidence and change your life.

Join instructors Sharon Howerton and Danette Johnson as they discuss each of
the braille literacy courses in Hadley's Adult Continuing Education (ACE)
program. Hadley’s Braille Student of the Year, Sue Brasel, will join us to
talk about her experiences and give tips on how to make the most of each
course.

Kim Walker, Hadley instructor, will moderate this 60-minute seminar. A
question and answer session will be included. This seminar is an audio-only
seminar, and space is limited. Please register only if you know you are
available to attend so that others are not closed out. Register now for The
Lowdown on What's Up with Braille
Literacy<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=12556588&msgid=808156&act=KE06&c=225701&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fhadley.edu%2FSeminarDetails.asp%3Fsid%3D329>.

Study Tips for Distance Learners
Hadley’s distance education courses give students the flexibility to study
anytime, anywhere. The trick is staying on top of your lessons! Doing so
requires being organized, disciplined and staying committed to your studies.
Because you have so much more flexibility, be mindful not to fall behind.
Unlike traditional students who are in the classroom and have strict
deadlines, distance education learners have less reminders and need to stay
motivated and on track.

Developing good study habits now will not only keep you ahead of the game in
your education, but also will be useful in managing your work and life. With
this in mind, we’ve put together some tips to help you get the most out of
your studies. Read Study
Suggestions<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=12556588&msgid=808156&act=KE06&c=225701&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fhadley.edu%2FHS-StudentHandbook.asp%3Fcontent%3DSS>
from Hadley’s student handbook, and prepare yourself for success!

Explore the Significant Improvements to Zoom

Zoom is the magnification software that is built right into Apple’s
operating system. Before iOS 8, Zoom only magnified the screen. The new Zoom
has really gone out of its way to add some game-changing magnification
features — and now there are a number of new tools that make the overall
improvements to Zoom significant. Watch the iFocus video, Using the Zoom
Features<http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=12556588&msgid=808156&act=KE06&c=225701&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fhadley.edu%2FPlayVideo.asp%3Fvid%3D19>,
as we review the improvements to the magnification features and take a look
at new Zoom tools, too.

Read Up on Bookshare

rates that open up the world of reading. Bookshare books are “accessible,”
which means you can read the books many different ways. Offering the world’s
largest collection of accessible titles, students can access the books they
