[Nfb-krafters-korner] Loom "knit-off" questions

I've never tried putting 2 loops over 1. I never even thought of it. I
will have to try it to see if it looks different than 1 over 2.

First of all, if you are a beginner at looming, start with a chumncky yarn.
I bet you, I could write more descriptive directions than those I read. I
did not even finish reading them!
I was tought to loom counter clock wize and wrap around each peg, clock
wize.
I never saw any explination, near the beginning that explained that your
yarn should make a cross in the back of each peg, to create a e-wrap.
Also the grove in the peg is to assist you in getting your loom tool behind
your current stitch to lift it up and over or in a purl , to widen the
stitch and be able to pull the working yarn up through the existing loop.

That gathered bind off was not very well described, either!
They did not even tell you which way to put your working yarn through each.
They did not tell you to turn your hat inside out to gather the loops and
make your knot and thread your tail into the existing stitches.
I could go on and on.
You will learn a lot more, here.
I have not even done the double stranded looming.
Knitting one loop over 2 or 2 over one, with worsted weight yarn will give
you a tight fabricky look. It takes a lot longer to compleat!
I have only done it once!

So I think I figured out between bookshare and YouTube how to do the e-wrap.
I got the counter clockwise and clockwise stuff mixed up but realized I wrap
each peg counterclockwise while moving clockwise around the loom from one
peg to the next.

But I'm having some trouble with the tool used to "knit off" lifting the
bottom wrap over the top. It seems easier with my fingers but then I have to
wrap very loosely. Are there tricks for using the pick tool?

Also the books are all talking about using two strands or three strands.
Does this mean using two balls of yarn and holding two strands together and
wrapping that way, or does it mean wrapping around more than once to
double-strand a wrap? Isn't it confusing if you have more than one strand if
you lift the bottom strand up and over the wraps -- I mean remembering how
many strands a wrap contains?

I have the Knifty Knitter set with the grooves in each peg.

Thanks.
