Put your speech on, then put the braille display on.  You should hear, a verbal, braille display on.  If not, most likely something might be wrong with your display.
I am guessing you might have to send it in.
Are you using it on power.  Make sure you are.  It could be your battery, if you are depending just on the battery.
I use a bt and know nothing about pairing it with another device.

Try space with O for the Options menu, then type R for review voice, and you should be able to toggle speech from there as well.
