[Nfb-krafters-korner] stitch for sewing knitted items

Berneice, I like the overcast stitch for sweater seams. I use the same yarn that I used to make the sweater and a yarn sewing needle. Keep the stitches close together and close to the edge of the knitted pieces. Then they lay flat and look good. Clearly, there are different preferences. No absolute rights or wrongs.
