Thanks Dixie, I will give this a try also. I think I will knit a couple of
swatches and try each of the methods to see which one I like the best before
I sew together my grandson's sweater. My surgery date is tomorrow, so I
won't finish it before Christmas. I am going to wrap the pieces, so he can
see that it is almost done.

Thanks again,
Bernice and the sweetest Octane.

The back stitch is a good stitch to use to stitch knit items together.

To do the back stitch:

Step 1: With the wrong sides together Insert your needle from the bottom
layer through to the top layer of fabric, at the bottom of the seam.

Step 2: Insert your needle from the top layer and through the bottom layer,
about 1inchup the seam from where the needle came up through the fabric.

Step 3: Insert your needle from the bottom side to the topside, ½ inch below
where you just had the needle go through the fabric. This will be ½ inch
from the beginning of the seam When you come up through the fabric you will
have your needle half way between where it came up the last time and went
down in the last step.

Step 4: Insert the needle from top to bottom about ½ inch beyond where you
had inserted it in step 2.

Step 5: Bring your needle up from the bottom to the top in the same place
you had it go through in step 3.

Continue this leap frog kind of stitching through the entire seam.

Merry Christmas!

Dixie

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling
clothes,

and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping
watch

over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord
shone

round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good
tidings of

great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is
Christ

the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in
swaddling

clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host
praising

God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And, that is what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown!
