Bless your heart,

I knew someone would ask. There are many ways to make this new year good
luck tradition. Below is the one I use. It is a tradition of good luck and
blessings that each new years day you have a helping of Hoppin John. Fresh
collard greens, boiled tender in salt water. After tender, mix with bacon
fat and I use chopped bacon and mix in prepared black eyed peas. So good.
Hard to find up north but some Cracker Barrel rest. Have them on menu. Not
sure which one.
